Why does user with "power" role only see the "Search" option in the navigation menu and nothing else?

Hello!

I have a Splunk Enterprise 9.0.7 deployment.  I have a local user with the "power" role.  When connecting to the Search & Reporting app I can only see the Search option:

Isn't "power" role able to access other app features?  Expectation is to see what users with "admin" role see:

What have I done wrong?

  • Are you sure all power user has the same issue or only a specific user, please check that.
    • If only this user is having this issue, there is a great deal of chance that the user has navigation in his/her etc/user/local folder. Which is overriding what the App's default navigation.
    • If all power user is having this issue, then you may have changes some capability for roles in your environment..

Hi,

Did you made any changes to 'user' or 'power' role?

'Power' inherits some capabilities from 'user', so if you removed/changed some capabilities from 'user', they will also be reflected on 'power'.
