Trying to uninstall Splunk Enterprise 7.0.1.0 from Windows 10
Trying to uninstall Splunk Enterprise 7.0.1.0 from Windows 10. I get a message from the uninstall process to "Insert the 'Splunk Enterprise' disk and click OK."
The issue is I don't have a "Splunk Enterprise" disk. Nor is there an msi file to use.
Please advise.

Maybe just try to upgrade it to the oldest 8.x version you can get on the downloads page, then uninstall it after that?

I tried several different prior versions. Splunk only accepts the single msi that was used to install and that is not available: splunk-7.0.1-2b5b15c4ee89-x64-release.msi
I will need to manually start surgical removal of the prior version.
Definitely a negative when trying Splunk.

Ultimately, it was time for a new machine.
Upshot: Not installing Splunk on the new machine to avoid this from happening again.

This is actually a MSI quirk. I've seen it happen with various softwares over last 20+ years. And yes, it's frustrating.
