Is Postgres sidecar loaded on-demand?

We do not use features that require postgres sidecar, and do not see postgres being started.  Does this mean that the sidecar is loaded only when a feature calls for it?

@yuanliu - I believe Splunk added Postgres binary for KVstore to be migrated from MongoDB to Postgres. But I don't think migration has yet happened, even though Postgres is enabled by default in server.conf, auto migration is disabled by default. And I don't think Postgres is documented to be used anywhere else in Splunk currently.

That was my long-held belief, too.  But SVD-2026-0603 implies that the sidecar is presently utilized by Edge Processor, OpAmp, and SPL2 data pipelines.  I do not see postgres process running even though I'm using default of disabled=false.  I do not use any of these features, so I'm wondering if the process is started only if/only when some of these features are in use.
