HI. --How to check ip address of indexers from search head
Hi @rajneeshdba trying to do this on Splunk search query may be bit looong route (unless you follow the most easiest route of @Richfez suggested).
my first guess would be to query the internal logs with the indexer name and look for some fields which will have the indexers destination ip or source ip.
or some rest queries which will give us the indexers info..
Thanks to @Richfez for the wonderful idea!
Probably the easiest way is to
1) Run a search (doesn't matter what search)
2) Open the Search Job Inspector https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/8.1.0/Search/ViewsearchjobpropertieswiththeJobInspector
3) Expand the section for "Search job properties"
4) Scroll down to the section "searchProviders" and that's your list of indexers it talked to for this search.
Happy Splunking,
Rich
