Collect logs from an SFTP servers to the Heavy Forwarders

We have an SFTP server with logs saved. We want to integrate those logs with Splunk, but we can't install an universal forwarder in that server. What options do we have? Push data from the server? Pull that logs from the HF?

Thank you

Some options:

  • Transfer the files to a system with a UF and let the UF send them to Splunk.
  • Write a program that reads the files and sends them to a HEC input.
  • If the files can be read remotely, configure a UF to read them from another system.

You can't use a UF anywhere? Or just not on the FTP server? If the former, why?

Hi

is it possible that someone configure syslog to send those logs to your UF/HF/Indexers?
