I have a client who is insisting on building an on-prem Splunk environment with Windows Servers.
Can someone tell me if Windows Server is a show-stopper for running ES? What functions won't work, or will have problems?

per this doc: https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/ES/4.7.1/Install/DeploymentPlanning windows Search Head Clustering is not supported. however, i dont think its a show stopper. seen it works nicely in few deployments. hope it helps
