Splunk Enterprise Security adding new View and navigation

Hi All,

I need to understand, we need to add new view and navigation tab to the Enterpirse Security app. But i need to know what is the best practise for the same.

If you modify any of the dashboards as-is, when you upgrade, if Splunk has improved those dahsboards/panels/views, you will not see them because your (old) local copy is overriding it. I suggest that you clone the dashboard so that this does not happen.
