Hi,
after splunk 5 installation on windows, when i type splunk.exe stop|start | other options i have that output of command is in other windows shell, which is closed at the end of command execution.
In this way i can read output for error (typing, server already running etc etc) or ok outpud (pid of splund processes for example).
How can i have output in the same shell of command, as in other version of splunk?

Typically this can be worked around by running the CMD prompt as an Administrator.

Before clicking "command prompt" from the start menu, right click the icon, and select "run as..." and then "Administrator" (or "Run as administrator", depending on your OS).

This should be able to correct you issue, this will probably fix issues with starting Splunk as well.
