how to ensure that my apps custom sourcetype shows up in future inputs

my app has a custom sourcetype. how can i ensure that this sourcetype is available to any future inputs through the web ui. e.g. when a user adds a new tcp input, the sourcetype dropdown would show the sourcetypes defined by my app.

in props.conf for that sourcetype.
