Splunk version changes depending on the screen I am on

Hello, Splunk is showing me different versions depending on where I am. For instance:

  • On Apps, I see version 4.0
  • Under settings, I see version 6

How can I ensure the current version shows everywhere?

Hi cotyp,
the easiest way is to use web interface (as the others suggested), or to be safer use CLI $SPLUNK_HOME/bin/splunk version
Bye.

Those are the version numbers of each app. Do Help -> About to see the version of Splunk itself.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "On Apps" and "Under settings." You can see different version numbers in different places, depending on the app context.

Go to Help > About. That will tell you the version of Splunk Enterprise that you are running as well as the version of the current application you are in.

how can I update the application version to match the Splunk Enterprise version that is currently running?

Apps are available in many different versions and normally they don't match the Splunk version. On Splunkbase apps.splunk.com you can find the version of Splunk that are support by the app.

Hope this helps ...

cheers, MuS
