How to disable splunk launch messages

The splunk launch messages on the console are so cool but the sense of humor is not universally shared in my company.

Is there a way to turn them off ?

You can set the value OFFENSIVE=less in splunk-launch.conf, this will suppress the messages from showing on the CLI during start-up.

Actually the option OFFENSIVE=less only censor the tag line "Take the sh out of IT"
the others are still displayed.

Yep, but its a bit more manual.

Try this at the command line:
$SPLUNK_HOME/bin#> echo "Put that in your | and Splunk it"; splunk start

That should give you more

Is there a OFFENSIVE=more for my own stack ?

Why would you want to? That is some cool stuff!

I just wish that they showed all the cool shirt slogans at random on startup instead of one per release. However, that does make me want to upgrade to the newest version to see the slogan that is included!

I suppose you could always put some masking tape on your screen to cover up the "bad" parts.
