How do you configure the nest thermostat and Splunk to communicate? Is there a tutorial for the initial configuration?
The Setup > Generate Device IDs does not return any results for me. Maybe there is a way to configure Splunk to view data on Nest.com? Maybe communicate over the same network using shared credentials?

Go to https://(splunk)/en-US/manager/nest/data/inputs/nest and add new. This is where you put in your nest information.

As a note, I have both the Nest App for Splunk and the Nest Add-on for Splunk installed.

I use this app, and as I recall you have to provide it with your Nest.com login and password in the app's settings. Other than that, I don't remember having to do anything special.

Do you have any documentation on where to enter the nest.com credentials? I cannot seem to find that area
