REST API Input for Splunkbase

We have clients that use Splunk Cloud and they would like to pull our data into their Splunk via REST api. For Splunk Enterprise, we suggested the REST api modular input in Splunkbase. What is the equivalent to this in Splunk cloud? In other words, what is the best way to pull JSON data into Splunk cloud from a REST API ?

1. The same app would work in Splunk Cloud also. You should request splunk cloud support to install the TA on IDM (Inputs Data Manager) cloud instance and you can configure like how you configure on Splunk Enterprise.

2. You should create your own app and then give it to Splunk cloud support to go through vetting process and then they will install the TA which you have created.

The REST API Modular Input app on Splunkbase doesnt look to be approved for SplunkCloud installs, however I have used DBData/App for REST Lookup (https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/4253/) which is cloud approved and might work for you?
