AppDynamics Nagios - Monitoring Extension

Hi All!

I have found this Nagios extension on the community portal:

https://github.com/Appdynamics/nagios-monitoring-extension

Has anyone already tried it? I am a little bit confused how we can use this.

Can we simply pull all the metrics from Nagios and put it on a Dashboard?

The github page talks about the machine agent and nagios script connection. What does it mean? Can we only gather the data supplied by the nagios scripts where machine agent runs, too?

What about devices using snmp to send data to nagios? like switches or storages? Can we gather data about this devices using this nagios extension?

Thank you for your help!

Best,

Sandor

Hi Sandor,

We do not support the Nagios extension listed here: https://github.com/Appdynamics/nagios-monitoring-extension.

All AppDynamics Supported extensions are listed here:  https://www.appdynamics.com/community/exchange/

Thanks,

Hi Bhuvnesh,

Thank you for the answer.

I am a little bit confused. The Appdynamics github repo is not an official repository?

I checked the link you shared. I have not found any nagios related extension.

Is that means there is no official integration with nagios?

Best,

Sandor

Hi Sandor,

All extensions on GitHub are available for open source contributions. This extension is not listed on the exchange as it does not meet all the criteria. Only the extensions that meet our extension guidelines and work seemlessly are listed on the AppDynamics Exchange. At this point I do not see any other integration for nagios.

Thanks,

Bhuvnesh
