Splunk AppDynamics

Android Gradle Plugin 8.0 Support

It seems even the latest

appdynamics-gradle-plugin:23.2.1

is not compatible with the lastest Android Gradle Plugin

com.android.tools.build:gradle:8.0.0

as the Transform API is removed: https://developer.android.com/reference/tools/gradle-api/7.2/com/android/build/api/transform/Transfo...

An exception occurred applying plugin request [id: 'adeum']
> Failed to apply plugin 'adeum'.
> API 'android.registerTransform' is removed.

Is there anything i can do besides downgrading the Android Gradle Plugin?

cheers,

Jerg

Hi @Ryan.Paredez,

I tried to update it, but it seems like the new version (23.6.0) is still not available. See https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.appdynamics/appdynamics-gradle-plugin

The latest release is here 23.4.1

Hi @Paul.Wyszynski,

Thanks for sharing more info. Let's see if the Community can jump in and help. This is a peer-to-peer Community (mostly).

Hi @Ryan.Paredez ,

I don't think the community can fix this. I think this has to be forwarded to the devs who are in charge of releasing it to Maven.

Hi @Paul.Wyszynski,

Can you provide more context please and I'll see if I can get you some help.

It's not possible to use how. Are you getting any errors? The more detail you can provide the better others can help.

According to this page https://docs.appdynamics.com/paa a new Android Agent version 23.6.0 is released.

We're are using this dependency in our project as a maven dependency:

classpath 'com.appdynamics:appdynamics-gradle-plugin:23.6.0'

Unfortunately, there is no new version available in the maven repo

Could not resolve all files for configuration ':classpath'.
   > Could not find com.appdynamics:appdynamics-gradle-plugin:23.6.0.

See https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.appdynamics/appdynamics-gradle-plugin

Hi @Ryan.Paredez

thanks. New version seems to be available. Unfortunately, it's not possible to use the latest version from Maven. Can you help me with this?

Hi @Paul.Wyszynski,

Can't give you a specific date. I can suggest keeping an eye on the product announcements page. These get updates as products and new versions get released.

Hi, thanks. I think we can wait for the new version. Do you know when the new version will be available? Next week?

@Paul.Wyszynski  - Feedback I'm getting here is that you should open a Support ticket to get to the bottom of this issue. Good luck and please let us know how it turns out!

Hi Claudia,

thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, I have no permission to access the support portal to file a ticket. It says:  permission denied, you don't have required permissions. Can you help me with this? Maybe you could file a ticket with my posted information/stacktrace?
