Dear Community Admins, Splunk  and Slack Gurus,

I see there are good and healthy discussions on the Slack Channels from our dear Splunkers, but i am unable to find any user metrics(like, for a selected user, how many replies, how many posts he/she made, how many solutions, etc..
similar to this community user metrics:

Posts1926
Solutions189
Karma Given2281
Karma Received494

Your thoughts and views pls, thanks

Hi @inventsekar

I think the way discussions happen in Slack mean there is not the same level of solution/karma type tracking as available in this (Khoros) platform - As a standard user you can do 'from:@username' in Slack search which will display a count of results for messages from that user however it may only count channels which you are in so might not be any good.

If you're after info for a specific user etc you might be able to reach out to the community team directly on Slack? e.g. Jenny/Ryan

Thanks @livehybrid for your reply.

For everyone's understanding, let me give some more context:

  1. the ( old answers.splunk.com ) community.splunk.com got the karma point system, number of replies, etc.. and that karma points system automatically drives "some" new learners and experienced Splunk'ers as well,  to contribute more and more.
  2. the Reddit app is similar to this Slack App, but the reddit got sooo many features to "induce" the users contribution and engagement.
  3. so, the app should provide somethings, some metrics, some "drivers" to to pull in the user's focus. Then automatically the users engagement will be better.

on this Slack App, i felt these pointers are missing, hence i asked these metrics. hope you understood my views, thank you.

PS - If this post or any post addressed your question, could you pls give it a Karma to show appreciation

As of Apr 2026, my Karma Given is 2290 and my Karma Received is 494, lets revamp the Karma Culture!
    Thanks and best regards, Sekar
