"The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel." when using Http EventCollector on Splunk Cloud

Hi,

I enabled Http Event Collector in Global Settings of my Splunk Cloud instance and use https://xxxxxxxx.cloud.splunk.com:8088/services/collector/event as a post target url.

When trying to send an event there from a .net application I get "The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel." exception.

The same client code worked for a on-prem install of Splunk Light (though it was http, not an https call).

Any suggestions how to fix this?

Thanks
Voffka

Hello Voffka,
When connecting to cloud, please use https://input-xxxxx.cloud.splunk.com:8088/services/collector/event

More details can be found at HTTP Event collector walkthrough

Hi @dkoshe,

I actually am using https://input-prd-p-xxxxxxx.cloud.splunk.com:8088/services/collector/event url and I'm getting SSL/TLS error when trying to post to it; my Splunk Cloud instance url is https://prd-p-xxxxxxx.cloud.splunk.com ; I followed the walkthrough and added "input-" prefix to the domain name.

Please advise

Thanks
Voffka
