Hello all, its told that the file in "c:/programfiles/splunk/etc/system/local/server.conf" in windows, has to be modified as "allowRemoteLogin to always" to enable remote web console login. But I cant find any such line in the file to edit. Someone please help me on how to enable remote console login..

Take a look at http://www.splunk.com/base/Documentation/latest/Admin/Serverconf

That will give you all the options for the server.conf file

You want something like this:

[general]
allowRemoteLogin = Always

one thing to note is that not all options are included in a configuration file by default. refer to the associated .spec file to see what options are available. it will explain what the available options are, and give information on how to use them.

you can read http://www.splunk.com/base/Documentation/latest/Admin/Aboutconfigurationfiles for an overview of how the configuration file system works.
