License updated but still search error

I've received new license file. Added in the GUI and logged on to Splunk with ADMIN and restarted Splunk. Then I took splunk offline on the indexers and started Splunk on them,
I'm still got license error when i trie searches. The license page says I've increased the license.

Why did you add a new License file? What error do you get?

If you maxed out your previous license, you'll need a reset license.
Just adding an extra license wont reset you limitations

Thanks,
I had to ask our vendor (3.party) for a reset license. When I applied that and restarted Splunk License Master (same as Search head) it worked.

I added new license file because we had to increase our license, more data are indexed and we had violated the old license 5 times in the last 3 weeks.
Error message :
[serverxx] Streamed search execute failed because: Error in 'litsearch' command: Your Splunk license expired or you have exceeded your license limit too many times.
