Is my httpd.conf proxy configuration for SplunkJS correct?

We have enterprise installed on the same server running apache webserver. We also made the necessary configuration on webserver, but still cannot run the example test_login.html. Here is the configuration on httpd file. Splunk is running on port 8000.

httpd.conf :

 #ProxyPreserveHost On
ProxyPass /proxy http://localhost:8000
ProxyPassReverse /proxy http://localhost:8000

test_login.html
splunkjs.config({
        proxyPath: '/proxy',
        scheme: 'http',
        host: 'localhost',
        port: 8080,
        authenticate: {username: '*****', password: '******'}
    });

Are the configurations correct?
