Hi All,

have 1 license master/search head and 3 indexers, as of about 2 weeks ago all 3 indexers lost contact to the master, what can i do to fix this? also, is there a way to trigger an email alert if this happens again.

Found the issue, the index cluster has been broken 😐 does/can does this randomly happen, or would someone have to have de-clustered this?

Hi
you could create an alert like the following

index=_internal "Indexer unable to contact licence master"

to run e.g. every hour that send an eMail wher error occurs.
bye.

Edit: Update: i believe its a simple DNS issue on the servers that the indexes software is running on that is causing them not to be able to contact the license master via fqdn.

You can stand up a Monitoring Console and then find a search that you like that shows license usage. Copy that search and any time that it shows 0 license usage, you know that either your Indexers are not Indexing or they are not talking to the License Manager.
