How to recover the old password in splunk?

Can any one please let us know how to recover password in splunk ?

You can rename the passwd file to passwd.bak and restart splunk. You should be able to use the default login.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to recover your password.
For security concerns, we are only offering to reset your password (as explained in the postings above).
Once your password has been reset, you can change to the password you like or the one respecting you IT password policy.

Yes, I saw those links already but those are not an answer to my question?

If i understood correctly from those tow links , they are specifically fro resetting the password, but i need to recover my password(means i am not supposed to change the old password)
