I set up an alert action to create an rss feed and there is an rss link in the table view of all of my saved searches, but clicking on that icon leads to an error page saying the page has not been found, what is going on, is rss working?

The RSS is working but it's possible your search hasn't run yet. If your search hasn't run, then there are no results to populate the RSS feed. Make sure you've scheduled the search, and then check back after the search has completed. You should see some results.
