Yeah, As @woodcock asked, may i know if the Karma Contests are still in place?
the last one i remember was Dec 2019.
the 2020, from the beginning, a disappointing year, it seems 😉
As we crossed(in a month) 2020, may we expect the same(karma contests) from 2021 please!
Best Regards,
Sekar
PS - Your karma points will be my 2 rupees, thanks!

here we go: http://conf.splunk.com/contests/where-will-your-karma-take-you/rules.html
Let the karma games begin ......
@piebob and @ppablo_splunk, how are you going to handle upvote-fraud in this contest? I did a little bit of checking and, although I do not think it was a problem for July's contest (well done, @martin_mueller; you are THE MAN), it is unmistakably obvious that there is a significant amount of this unfair (non-value-added) karma accumulation happening this month and it is jeopardizing any possibility of fair-play if something is not done about it very soon. Yes, I am working my tail off to win, but only by legitimate means.
FYI @piebob and @ppablo_splunk, because my email address is in my profile, I am receiving private emails with evidence of out-and-out fraud indicating shadow accounts created by specific users for the specific purpose of karma-inflation via upvote-fraud. I have also received offers to forward messages of emails from contest participants who have solicited upvotes. As anyone can see, the outrageous escalation of non-value-added-karma on the monthly leaderboard is worse than ever today. Perhaps you should institute website upgrade only for August that acts retroactively so that only the first upvote from userX to userY will award any points to userY. This will allow 90%-99% of the legitimate points but disclude almost all of the fraud. Otherwise the contest is a sham.
please forward any and all such emails to rachel@splunk.
i am currently investigating what the site actually supports, and am intending to sort out what has occurred.
it's one thing to boost someone a little with a few upvotes, and entirely another to embark on an upvote spree over multiple days. i contacted two accounts i was made aware of to ask that they refrain from doing this, and have received no response. i ask your patience as i try to address this issue.
Although the people who contacted me may not all have expressed a desire to remain anonymous, I would rather allow them to contact Rachel directly, if any of them desires to do so; I prefer not to out them myself. It really should not be necessary since the site's "view user activity" tools that exist right now are very capable to expose the egregious behavior thus far so that it is undeniably obvious to anyone who cares to look.
if you have evidence of this, i would like to see it. please stop making vague statements, and email me with your direct information and accusations.
Email sent.
On a lighter note, this reminds me of my favorite commercial of late:
