Duplicated app icon in Home menu

Stives
Explorer

Dears Splunkers,
I´m investigating issue with the duplicated maps+ for Splunk application icon in the Home menu of Splunk (see attached pic.)
Enterprise running on Cloud. This is a weird performance. Splunk version 9.1.2.
Can you pls. suggest how to resolve this problem so that only 1 app. icon does appear as before?
Thank you

Hi @Stives ,

check if there are two apps with associated the same icon:

you can do this clicking on the first app and noting the app name from the address bar, then the same thing on the second app.

probably you have two apps with the same icon.

Another choice could be that you did an upgrade of a curtom app without flagging to override the existing version.

In this case, you could try to see if you can remove the app (if it's a custom app) otherwise, you have to open a case to Splunk Cloud Support.

Ciao.

Giuseppe

Hi gcusello,

thank you for reply and support. You where right there where 2 versions of app deployed in different directory.

How should I proceed to safelly remove unwanted application from Splunk deployed on cloud?

Thank you?

Hi @Stives ,

you should ask to Splunk Cloud Support to remove your app, because there isn't a feature to remove apps, you should delete the app folder, but you cannot access system in SSH.

Ciao.

Giuseppe
