Timed out while waiting for splunkd daemon to respond. Splunkd may be hung.

I am getting the message "Timed out while waiting for splunkd daemon to respond. Splunkd may be hung." when I attempt to access the Indexes page in splunkweb. All (or at least most) of the other pages load including search. I have rebooted the server. Any ideas?

It appears that the CPUs throttle up briefly while it's trying to load and go back to normal when the error displays.

I was able to go in through the CLI and delete what I suspected was a corrupt index.

I disabled all of the indexes and brought them back online one at a time.

I have the same problem! How do you detected the corrupted index ?
