Monitoring Splunk

JMeter Logging

Has anyone out there used Splunk to monitor JMeter tests - another project which I am associated with uses JMeter to run a test which will invoke a webservice from an external application - I wanted to use Splunk to monitor when the test begins in JMeter and when the webservice is invoked (I am already monitoring the webservice so it is the JMeter side I am blind on). Is this possible and can anyone suggest where I should start with this?

Thanks

Let me know if you are interested.

Hi rlautman

when I recall it correct JMeter can log its test result in almost any format to a file. Setup your JMeter test run to write its results into a csv file for example and have this log file or the containing directory monitored by Splunk. As soon as you start the test and the JMeter log gets written, Splunk will read and index the results.

hope that helps to get you started.....

cheers, MuS

update: yes, this should be possible in JMeter - View Result in Table click configure and choose your settings.....
