Is there a config file setting that will allow you to change the default location of the splunkd.pid file.
I'd like to configure Splunk to put it's pid file in /var/run like most other PID files for consistency with other services.
Not that I am aware of. Can you explicit the reason why do you want to move the pid files out of the $SPLUNK_HOME/var/run/splunk/ folder ?
