How do I put Splunk Cluster Master in a maintenance mode? Is via CLI the only way?

How do I put Cluster Master in a maintenance mode? Can it be done via GUI ? Or have to be done via CLI cli only?

This is not available in masters GUI. The command is run in CLI as you upgrade Splunk in CLI only.

1. To put the cluster into the maintenance mode:

 

/opt/splunk/bin/splunk enable maintenance-mode

 

 2. To disable maintenance mode:

 

/opt/splunk/bin/splunk disable maintenance-mode

 

3. To check maintenance mode status. The returned value of 1 indicates that the maintenance mode is on.  Value  indicates that the maintenance mode is off.

 

/opt/splunk/bin/splunk show maintenance-mode

 

 /opt/splunk/ is $SPLUNK_HOME directory in this case.
