Monitoring Splunk

Apache performance monitoring

Hi,

I'm interested in knowing how to use splunk for detailed apache performance monitoring.
We are used to using Hyperic for lot of these (http://www.hyperic.com/products/apache-monitoring) but I couldn't find specific 'adapters' in splunk that expose lot of these information from apache (to splunk).
Enabling lot of these in logging and then using splunk to analyse & create dashboards/alert the way forward or there are other ways?

I'm newbie to splunk so thanks in-advance if this is a really 'dumb' question...

cheers,
Parth

Hyperic provides lots of plugins to collect metrics from OS/app/server.

It'll be great if Splunk can have some of integration with hyperic server, to directly get the data from hyperic database

For example: spunk->hyperic->tomcat

//my first post on this forum.

Basically Splunk takes the logs from Apache, and parses them to get the information.

If you're using either access_common or access_combined, I recommend taking a look at the web intelligence app..
