i have a query like

index="default_index"  source="source1.csv"

*calculations*

| appendcols [search index="default_index"  source="source1.csv" |  * different calculations*]

| appendcols [ search index="default_index" source="source1.csv" | *differenct calculations*]

is there any way i can optimize the indexing in this search because the same index is used multiple times for multiple different calculations

Try to create a base query on the index that's used frequently and do a post process/calculations accordingly.
