What happens if you leave SmartStore?

If I have data in S3 for SmartStore, what happens to that index data if I decide to stop using SmartStore?
Will that data go back to the local storage on our indexers?
Do we just lose everything in those buckets?

Splunk says there is no going back from SmartStore to local storage. Perhaps some day a smart person will figure out a way to do it, but for right now plan on losing your S2 data if you stop using the feature.
