Hi all
How to install Side view web-analytic ,,i have one windows 7 where Splunk enterprise is installed, and access_logs are copied to that machine from my apache web server to analyse the logs..
my concern is ,,where should i install Sideview and how to ??

OK. It sounds like you have downloaded a trial version of the Sideview Web Analytics app from the Sideview website, and what you get when you do that is a file called web_analytics.tar.gz.

From there, log into Splunk as an admin user.

Go to Apps > Manage Apps > and click "install app from file"

upload the web_analytics.tar.gz file using the file upload control there.

That will install the Sideview Web Analytics app.

Next, you will have to also get the Sideview Utils app from the sideview site here - http://sideviewapps.com/apps/sideview-utils/
You may already have a copy of Sideview Utils, but if it's version 1.3.5 and/or if you got it from Splunk or from apps.splunk.com, it will be an old and out of date version.

,you will a get link to download sideview utils app in your mail, and then install app->manage apps in splunk.
