does it make sense to backing up indexed data for upgrade

Hi all,

I just want to ask if it makes sense to backup the indexed data before the upgrade of peer nodes (indexer nodes)

or is it enough to backup only the home directoy of splunk.

thanks

If the indexed data is in on a different disk from the Splunk home directory then, IMO, a backup of indexed data is not necessary.
