Why is launching Splunk Enterprise throwing a 404 error?

If I want to launch Splunk Enterprise for the first time, an error 404 occurs. Could you help me to start Splunk?

Hi there, do you see any error or warning messages in $SPLUNK_HOME/var/log/splunk/splunkd.log. What does the error message say?

Quick google search for site:answers.splunk.com splunk 404 error can help you figure out the root cause.

I changed http://localhost:8000 to http://localhost:8001 and it works so the problem is solved. Thank you.
