What is procedure to upgrade splunk enterprises 7.3 to 8.0 when your host is windows server 2012 R2

Hi,

i have read the instruction that you cannot install the Splunk enterprises version 8.x to windows server 2012 R2. i need to know what is the correct way to install the Splunk enterprises version 8.x . should I need to install new host 2016 or any other method.  As i have 1 deployment server, 2 indexers, search head, universal forwarder. please share your thoughts

Splunk 8 does not support Windows Server 2012, but that doesn't mean it won't work.  Try it on your test system.  Be aware that Splunk Support will not help you with problems if Splunk is running on an unsupported OS.

You'd probably be better off upgrading the OS to one Splunk supports.
