Warning: cannot create C:\Program Files\splunk\etc\licenses\download-trial

I am trying to run splunk for the first time using 

C:\Program Files\splunk\bin>splunk start in windows cmd,

but I am getting this error   Warning: cannot create "C:\Program Files\splunk\etc\licenses\download-trial"

please help 😞

Hi @ruchika997,

This is likely a permissions problem.  What is the user that you are logged-in as when you do:

splunk start

 And which user is the Splunk service installed under?
