Is there a way to extend the life of a Bash Splunk script using WGET?

Hi,

I have a Bash Splunk installation script, however I'm using WGET to download a specific version (i.e. 6.6)

Is there a way to extend the life of this script for when a new version of Splunk comes out or will I just have to change my script with the updated WGET command ?

Thanks

Download Splunk to a local server and create a soft link to it called "SplunkLatestInstaller". Each time a new release comes out, download it and update the link. Then you just have to change your script once to wget SplunkLatestInstaller from the local server.
