Does anyone have a checklist (or know a link for one) for upgrading Splunk, more specifically post-validation checks?

The Installation Manual has a set of upgrade instructions, starting with How to upgrade Splunk Enterprise. The docs don't have a checklist for post-install validation, though. There are detailed instructions for upgrading distributed deployments there, too.
