Install on Linux 3.2.21

Can Splunk be installed on Linux 3.2.21? I have an Amazon EC2 instance and I am trying to run the rpm package for Linux 2.6. Is there any way to get either the tar or rpm to install on 3.2. I know, dumb question right? Guess I'm kind of grasping at straws.

I doubt it is tested, but I would expect it to work. It would be helpful to know what specific Linux distribution you are running. Ubuntu is the most widely-used distribution that is up to kernel 3.2, but Ubuntu does not use RPMs.
