splunk daemon fails to restart

I tried to modify the configuration through props.conf. After modification I tried to make the changes effective by restarting splunk with "splunkd restart". However, after doing so, I got the error saying
"error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open..."

May I know how does Splunk check, register and load the necessary object files to launch the daemon process ?

Hi reynold_kwok,

you should use $SPLUNK_HOME/bin/splunk restart instead.

cheers, MuS
