forward installer returns error code 1073741795 on Win2003

Hello, trying to install 32-bit forwarder (splunkforwarder-6.0.2) returns error code 1073741795 on a Windows 2003 AD-server.
Unfortunately no additional info in the logs and install has been rolled back.
This is our very first install of the forwarder and we can't get any further,
earlier posts found but no answer..

I had a similar issue on a Win2003 server and opened a ticket. Support says this is a bug but is not fully understood yet and affects some but not all windows installs. To fix, I had to install older version (5.0.8).
