Getting Data In

Splunk stopped indexing local log after SSL setup

alt textHi Guys,

I run standalone Splunk Version: 7.2.0 deployment for a college project on Ubuntu 14.04 (amd64). I have single data source file /var/log/mhn/mhn-splunk.log

It was working fine for two days and then I've set up SSL using Anthony Tellez Lets Encrypt guide and after restarting Splunk the source is no longer indexed. The moment after ./splunk restart I started getting errors as in the image.

At this stage I've tried to clean environment and re-read the log file but below didn't help:

 splunk stop
 splunk clean eventdata
 splunk start

I can see that my .log file is still populated with data from the MHN deployment.

Thanks

  1. Is there any error message in the splunkd.log ? Do you still see the Jasonlinbreaker error right now ?
  2. Have you tried to disable the SSL and see it recover ?
