Need help with REST API on Splunk Cloud

Hello,

I have a request to receive the data from an application into splunk cloud using REST API.

Opt 1: Requested splunk support to install the splunk modular input rest add-on but it got failed as part of app vetting process and it's declined.

Opt 2: Installed it on the Heavy forwarder, but need to buy the activation key which the client is not interested.

Is there any way where we can configure it on Splunk cloud?

Please help me out.

What part failed on the install?

also you can go here to get a 14 day trial of the activation key

Does this product works even after the trial after we set up the initial configuration?
