Getting Data In

Is there any documentation on Splunk app migration from python 2 to 3?

Hi,

We upgraded Splunk from 8.2.6 to 9.0.1 recently and have one big internal app ( dashboard, views, field extractions) which is failing dring app readiness check.

It shows that app is using python 2 and not compatible with python3 . Either uninstall it or update it.

How do i update this internal app ( this is not splunk app , builder or plugin) - is there any documentation or steps which anyone can provide.

Hi @rashiagrawal,

I suppose that you used the Readiness App to check the compatibility with the new Splunk version using only Python3 (as Splunk8.3.x), it should indicate the non compatible modules.

in few words, you used in your app some python commands or scripts that you have to modify to adapt to the new python version.

Then there are some other updates to do to your dashoboard (e.g. the html version).

Here you can find the documentation for update:

Ciao.
