Is there a version of the universal forwarder that can be used or is compatible with Windows Server 2016?
Officially it doesn't support but I tested 6.4.4 on windows server 2016 and it works as expected.

Agreed, is there any updates to this question from Splunk?
Latest version of Splunk doesn't seems to support Win Server 2016.
