Getting Data In

Is it possible for me to enable TCP data inputs on Splunk Cloud?

Hi,

Could I enable TCP Data Inputs on Splunk Cloud?

I'm trying to check which data inputs are available for Splunk Cloud (REST API, Http Event Collector, TCP, Universal Forwarder), couldn't find any docs for this, so any help will be appreciated. In some places it says that after a support ticket, the Splunk Cloud team opesn the required ports for you, but I didn't find any official docs about that.

Thanks in advance.

This is an old one, and other q&a's have addressed it... but... adding content here for additional hits if anyone else searches on this topic.

Splunk Cloud does not directly accept TCP inputs. Only SSL encrypted connections are allowed from forwarders (universal or heavy). So - if you need to enable some specific TCP inputs, install a heavy fowarder within your environment, download and install your Splunk Cloud forwarder app (your cloud instance credentials) into the heavy forwarder, then enable the TCP inputs on the heavy forwarder (and forward that data onwards into your cloud instance).
