I'd like to index "What's New in Splunk" for each version of Splunk as it becomes available, perhaps from the webpages:
In truth, it might be easiest to just grab all web pages under: http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/6.6.2/ReleaseNotes/*
Would a script calling wget be the best approach? What would be the easiest way to get the release notes in?
Website input App?
The Website Input app provides an mechanism for scraping web-pages for data and indexing it in your Splunk instance to make it searchable.
Have you done it with that app? Can you recommend the best way to configure it to index the information of interest?
Sadly I can not. I have it installed, but it didn't work out for my use case. I do know a guy who uses it to scrape the internal webpage of an old HP printer to Splunk the level of ink left.
