How to configure the SHC members and the deployer?

Hello Are you okay?
Can you help me, I'm trying to configure the Deployer to send the Apps to the SH's but I'm getting an error when executing the command:

Command: ./splunk apply shcluster-bundle -action stage --answer-yes
Error: Error in pre-deploy check, uri=?/services/shcluster/captain/kvstore-upgrade/status, status=502, error=Cannot resolve hostname

Tks!

Hi @Zarack,

probably the issue is the one indicated by @isoutamo and obviously the solution could be to ue IP address instead hostname.

Ciao.

It seems that the real issue was missing —target parameter as @richgalloway @said.

Anyhow I prefer always to use FQDN or short names and avoid IP numbers. That way you could jus5 update DND or hosts files when you are doing maintenance instead of change splunk configuration settings which (almost) all times means shorter or longer service break.

The command is missing the -target argument.

Hi

this sounds like you have issue with host name resolution or you have wrongly (mistyped) host names in your SHC-nodes.
