How to Upload an App?

I am a newbie and have inherited a Splunk installation. I downloaded the License Usage app and want to use of it in my installation. I can get to the “Manage Apps” page, but see nothing more about uploading another app. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Do you mean how to add the app to your Splunk Enterprise instance? If you have the package downloaded already, extract it to $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps. See the instructions in the Admin Manual.

Also, as a side note: what version of the software do you have? If it is 6.2.x, you should use the License Usage Report View, not a separate app.
